Dooley-O
- Watch the videos from the 'I Gotcha' album Press Clippings Click here to view Dooley - O's press clippings. After recording an unreleased album for the label Tavdash (one time home to R Kelly), Dooley presented the public access series Graffiti TV and became a mentor figure to funk-curator Egon who would later head prestigious indie Stones Throw. While the label would later release Dooley's single Watch My Moves and Solid would issue a well-received album of back catalogue material under the same name, it wasn't until 2005 that Dooley's first album of new music would finally find a home. Released on Lewis to rapturous acclaim for it's expertly helmed gritty production and everyman lyrical perspective, I Gotcha proved age hadn't dimmed Dooley's musical gifts. PRESS: "Pulls apart modern hip-hop's fixation with materialism and women and questions the motivations of today's rappers. Dooley-O isn't unique in reinventing golden age hip-hop but he is in making it this thrilling." - Metro "Best hip-hop album of the year." - Knowledge "Dooley's return could easily be another unearthed nugget from rap's golden age." - Hip-Hop Connection "A unique album..." - Undercover "Dooley-O has been there, seen it and pretty much wrote the book before anyone else you care to mention. It may be a long time coming but this guy has earned his respect." - Update "This MC from Connecticut's been about for eons but we're glad he's back." - Loaded "For anyone who appreciates pure, unadjusted hip-hop." - Big Cheese "Reminds you rappers can have half a brain." - Echoes" For interviews, photographs, bookings or advice on how to rescue something from your incinerator, please contact Sunil on 0208 523 9578 or e-mail sunil@rapandsoulpromotion.com Visit Dooley-O's website at http://www.dooleyo.com Visit Dooley-O's MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/dooleyo |
